My understanding is that the ones marked as you describe require an external regulator. The 10SI has an internal regulator (which is why it usually gets used -- it needs less work). If I understand this correctly, the "F" and "R" terminals are for the regulator connections. On the 10SI, the 1 and 2 connections are used for the excitation and sense circuits. They're not the same thing.
