Had a customer last year who had granular fertilizer poured in to the hyd/trans oil filler of his John Deere 5525N. Completly stuffed it. I looked at it on a Friday at his vineyard,he was jumping up and down, going to take JD to court the lot, untill I showed him the trans oil that I had drained out. By the time it arrived at our workshop on the following Monday afternoon the tractors rear wheels would not rotate as the bearings in the trans were siezed, we had to skid it off the lorry with a traded JD 6610. I rebuilt the tractor, the owner had a successfull insurance claim. The 5525N had 34 (yes, thirty four) hours on the clock. I now know my way round a JD 5525 trans and hydraulic system pretty good!
