had a friend that was running his cat dozer in a gravel pit. he 'went out one morning and had sand in fuel. cleaned fuel tank' replaced filters lit it up and was doing his thing after about 5 min. he spun a rod bearing seems the kids had put sand in his crankcase also. that was the day I put pad locks on all caps on my rig even the oil dipstick.
