MnBob, this is just my opinion but I would think your alfalfa would deteriorate less by leaving it alone than cutting it and then being totally dependent on the weather. I always like to allow three or four sunny days to put up my alfalfa. True, you don't always get that but it appears to me if you knock it down you are almost guaranteed to loose a cutting. Also, when it's down you risk damaging the NEXT cutting. I think I would wait. It's hard to do, I know. Mike
