If the bore sizes are different, then you probably don't have enough carburetor to handle the CFM of your bigger engine.
Does this carburetor have a slide? If so, you can enrichen the mixture by moving the clip that retains the main jet needle in the slide. But don't do that unless you're sure that the mixture is really too lean. You need to run it awhile and read the plugs to tell for sure.
Is this a constant velocity (CV) carb? CV carbs can be identified by a diaphragm on the top or side of the carb. The diaphragm operates the slide, which on non-CV carbs is operated by the thottle cable. It's possible that the slide is opening too fast or slow for your engine. This can be tuned by changing the diaphragm spring.
