NO fuel mixture adjustments on new small engines for a few years now. This is why you need a set of 61 through 80 drill bits and a pin vise to hold them. For some years I have used these drill bit and also the lower end of my 1 through 60 set to adjust the carbs main jet on the flat twin Brigg flat head engines. About two weeks ago a guy brought me a 15.5 HP Tec. engine with the PLASTIC FANTASTIC CARB ON IT. The engine was lean on both the high speed and idle mixture. Drilled out the plastic, YES plastic high speed jet and I used a number 75 drill to enlarge the brass idle jet. Engine ran like a dream, which is ODD for a Tec. engine when she left. It seams as these newer engine are set-up so lean from the factory that when they get a little age/wear on them they need richening up. The only way to do it is with a drill.
