How about the distinct possibility that a small county office has but one person on staff who handles gun permits....? And what are the chances that one person might have taken vacation time? (In spite of what SOME people think, us commoners are entitled to OUR job benefits, even if it does intrude upon your divine rights)
Maybe you didn"t explain to them just how important you really are. You should have called attention to your halo, had them bow and kiss your feet, then asked for everyones resignation. They should have been waiting at the door, expecting you to walk in and demand IMMEDIATE service.
