It"s all about the money. Years ago, the Methodist church wanted to combine our church with a city church, our church averaged 20 people a week. Our church is also on U.S. highway and a lurative $$$ location. Found out that IF our church ceased to exist, the property reverted to the family that donated it. The church is still in operation, with about the same attendance. The parsonage is rented out and helps to pay property tax, upkeep, and traveling pastor.
