RN,what should you do if you got a check from someone on this board? In a sense your son has gotten you involved in a business deal. I don't know what could come of the deal. If I got a check for something that I or my son had advertised for sale,I think that I better have some good legal reason for holding a check and not delivering the goods. A smart banker or a lawyer would be the one to ask this question of. Who knows scammers may have an alternate plan for situations such as yours, it may work,I doubt it but I have seen folks who think they are smarter than a dumb crook get taken by that dumb crook and nothing could be done about it.
