Yes, the hay preserv does work. The experts will tell you that the best time to mow hay is between 10:00 Am and 3:00 Pm for the best uptake of nutrients. I always found that raking alfalfa hay was best done when the dew was on the ground, either later evening or early morning. Yes it took a little longer to dry that way, but the leaf loss was so much smaller.
