I loaded semi-solid hog manure for years with a D-17 narrow front and the loader was a 417 A-C with a seven foot snow bucket. It was tippy on flat concrete. We changed to doing a bit more field work with the tractor including moving stooked hay and flat-8's. The narrow front end was impossible as our land rolls a bit and we were lifting as high as we could go. We put a wide front end under it. We gave up a LOT of maneuverability, but got stability and safety. We also put heavier wheels on it where we had to run standard rims on the narrow front ends and smashed three or four per year. The other fellows here are dead on. Think safety and you'll do fine.
