Hi folks, I am looking at buying a 2005 Chevy 1500 4x4 shortbed truck for me to save some miles on my diesel. It has the 4.3 which gets good mileage and 5spd 70,000 miles. The only problem I am having is that it has a Prior SAlvage title because of theft recovery. In my state they just made it prior salvage. I know who had owned it and they stated that it was never actually torn apart but rather that the insurance company paid for the truck before it was found, intact. It doesnt really have any options other than a cd player and 4x4. Do you think it would be a good deal at 7500? I would just buy an older one but the wife will be driving it in the winter and she insists on some thing that looks good. Will the title hurt the value enough that if i should sell it in a couple years it will kill the re-sell price? Or should I just buy a more expensive clean title model?
I want the 1/2 ton to haul a little feed in. Thanks
