Remove starter, smooth and clean the solenoid plunger,replace 2 starter contacts with heavier duty ones available from Peterbuilt. Mine cost $2.00 from small automotive electrical shop, but I haven"t needed them yet. The starters have a reputation of going a million miles if you don"t let the solenoid contacts burn and drop the voltage available to the starter. My 93 D350 work truck has 304K on it, starter contacts may have been replaced before I bought it, but still look like they were recently installed.
