The original coil and points were probably replaced with a magnetron armature (coil) and doesn't require any points. Touch those magnets on the flywheel with a screwdriver to see they have strong magnetism. Clean off any rust. Make sure none of the safety switches are the culprit. I would jumper them to isolate the problem. Make sure its out of gear. It probably has one here. You can go back to the auto type coil & points. You will need battery voltage fed through an ignition switch to the + plus side of the coil and to the points from the negative terminal on the coil. Be sure to disconnect the wires on the magnetron.
