First you must determine if your points are closing full, make sure your gap isn't too much that they don't close fully. Second clean the points with clean piece of paper. Thirdly make sure you don't have a wire or eyelet touching ground that shouldn't be touching the ground.
If you have a coil that is actually a mag that is activated by the magnets on the flywheel you must have the correct gap between the magneto and flywheel magnets.
