I finially got to the C today and as soon as i took the valve cover off i saw the push rod had come off the rocker again. Its just like it was when i got this tractor.
When i put it back on, i couldnt "feel" for the spot the push rod goes into very well. With the other two tractors, its very apperent where the rod is supposed to "sit" inside the engine.
The rod isnt bent or anything, and the rockers feel solid, not like theyre about to fall apart like one set here.
Im going to guess cam or lifters. Either way, i have good ones out of the first C.
