If given a choice of being on the tractor, or in the car that hit it. I would rather be in the car. Seems that the tractor drivers are the ones usually killed because there is no crumple zones on an ag machine, so the sudden really bad jar of the impact with no seatbelt or nothing on makes for really bad internal injuries. Not to mention an ag machine might be heavy and strong, but the castings that they are made from will fail during a sudden severe impact. Look at that big Massey Furgeson that the loader fell down onto the road and the whole tractor just folded right up in the stuck and troubled section. I've also seen lots of photos of tractors broke in half after getting struck by a vehicle.
