You've got to contain the CaCl inside a tube, inside the tire. If any CaCl has leaked out and contacted the rim, or anything else, in any way, it has to be thoroughly cleaned scrbbed, etc. and all trace of that nasty stuff removed. Otherwise, guess what? CaCl is great stuff because it gives you so much weight and it won't freeze if mixed strong enough and that's what you do to give the fluid more weight. That's why manufacturers used to furnish it as standard equipment. At least one did. (Allis Chalmers) We needed it along with two 150# wheel weights on each side of a WC Allis to pull two 14's through heavy alfalfa sod in red clay. We used that tractor, in that configuration, for over twenty years and did not have a spot of rust anywhere.
