I have pulled out many stumps with my Oliver "770" row crop. The reason I mentioned row crop is that tractor for tractor , the row crop tractors seam to pull a little better than the utility models. The Oliver "770" is compareable to the international "460". Before cutting down the tree , I hook a chain to the tree about 6 or 8 feet(even higher if possible)from the ground. Pull the tree over. The leverage of being hooked high will pull the roots out of the ground. Then cut up the tree. Different trees pull harder than others , depending on how deep the roots are. Populars and evergreen trees pull easy. I pull over trees up to around 10 inches in diameter. Hard woods are limited to around 6 inches in diameter. As the tree is being pulled down , I push it off to one side with my hand. Or maybe even pull it half way , then unhook and pull from a different angle. I'm talking about live trees. Dead trees can snap in two , causeing serious injury or worse. I'm telling you how I pull over trees. I'm not in any way guiding you , the unexperianced operator , on how to pull trees over.
