They switched to 6.4 because of the tighter emissions. As for return trips to visit the Ford "service technicions" I think they all go the same school called "Part Swapper". Unless a computer tells them what is wrong they don't have clue - be it the 6.0 diesel or a 3.0 V6 in Taurus. I had a few items they missed on the assembly line (nothing big but just things that needed fixed) and it 14 trips for my wife's 2006 Freestyle. 5 trips alone for a rear seat that was supposed to fold but was locked in place for some reason. I was so tired of their crap I asked them to give me the parts so I could fix it at home instead but they wouldn't do it.
I think Hyundai is going to get my business next time.
