Sounds like you're overheating it. The only time I have ever seen a transmission puke fluid out the vent is extreme heat, or overfilled. NEVER tow in overdrive. There is only 1 transmission in a light truck you can tow in overdrive, the Allison LCT 1000 in GM pickups. I would put a trans temp gauge on it so you can keep tabs on how hot it's getting. Chances are, the damage is already done and you will be having your transmission rebuilt soon.
