i need help, i have a 1991 ford f 150 and when we pull a trailor empty or even put a load of wood on it,it will blow all the transmission fluid out of the overflow weve put an aftermarket cooler on it and it still does it should i change the filter and and fluid or would it be somethin else.

I have made a practice of changing filters and fluid at the first sign of any transmission problems. Easy things first and it will give you a chance to see what is in the bottom of the transmission.

Sounds like you're overheating it. The only time I have ever seen a transmission puke fluid out the vent is extreme heat, or overfilled. NEVER tow in overdrive. There is only 1 transmission in a light truck you can tow in overdrive, the Allison LCT 1000 in GM pickups.
I would put a trans temp gauge on it so you can keep tabs on how hot it's getting. Chances are, the damage is already done and you will be having your transmission rebuilt soon.

Might have to disable A/C. Look at clutch and make sure it isn"t turning. Usually runs in defrost also. Dave

had a Buick once that did the same thing except it would blow out fluid anytime you drove it. Turned out to be the 0-ring on the tube that holds the dipstick, where it goes into the engine block. I'd spent $30 adding fluid & the parts store gave me the 0-ring because it was only 2 cents & they didn't want to run it thru their register!
