actually, the gearbox under the tank locked up and was the reason that the 352 became a parts machine. when it happened, i bought a low use 353 from a neighbor and used that. the 352 sat in a shed for 10 years, during which i found an early model 353 for a backup. when the 353s started having intake auger issues, and the drive shaft pieces for 1 side of the universal totalled over $300, i decided the 352 was worth more as a parts donor. i had to use the whole driveshaft but it worked.
