Back during WWII, the auto industry--as well as manuy others--turned their plants over to the government to build the tools and weapons of war. They could do that because we had the manufacturing space to do that. And you NEVER heard anyone crying "socialism" about that. So to pay them back, we're supposed to "allow" the industry to go broke, let the recievers sell off the plants piecemeal, and watch as the plants are torn down, never to return...just to avoid "socialism" ?? And what happens when we end up in another major war, and there are no factories left to convert to wartime production? We probably won't survive as a nation in that case...but at least we'll have avoided the "socialism" label, as our nation fades from existence.
