A Ford N series weighs between 2400-2500 pounds. I use mine for finish mowing with regular farm lugs, and it leaves no noticable marks in the lawn. The mower bogey wheels probably put mure PSI on the ground....I don't think you have to worry about septic system damage, although truth be known, I wait 24 hours after a rain just out of habit. As for a pull behind mower. I'd say forget it. I have a 6 foot mower, and I have the wheels set about a foot narrower than the mower itself. I can trim right up to stuff, and it also allows me to back under a tree, which you can't do with a belly mount mower. As for a pull behind, I can't imagine my wife backing anything up that was articulated. I can see the universals stressed as the unit jacknifes as she crushes the mower with a rear tire backing up.... How much stuff do you have in your yard? I guess if it didn't have anything to trim, a trailer mower may work. We just have too many trees.
