Slow Races Question ?????

I wish they had slow races when I was in school track meets. Anyways, with regards to tractor slow races, I sort of understand the basic idea, namely to idle your tractor down to an almost standstill walk along the course. And, I guess there is a skill or an art to do it, but seriously, what does it really mean (or what is the signifigance of the race)? I guess it must have something to do with an engine being in good shape and well tuned, is that correct? Any of your comments will be interesting. Meanwhile, maybe we could rename the event "slow ________". Any suggestions for a new name?
