i had a 10ft arbor vitae destroyed by them a couple years ago. i used a shop vac with 10ft of wand to pull them off a small building next to the arbor vitae. then i had to hand pick the bags from about 100 evergreen trees once a week for the rest of the mowing season. i must have gotten them all because i haven't seen any more of them. the worms climbs as high as they can and cast a web to travel on. the local extension office recomended spraying sevin but i have animals so i didn't want to go that route.
