My dad hated cats. We kids and mom loved them. We had an old tom cat and we gave it to the neighbors across the road. Before noon it was back home so we gave it to a neighbor who lived about 5 miles away and in two weeks later it was back. so my dad gave it to his sister who lived in the next county about 40 miles away while they were visiting at Easter. Before Labor Day the cat was back. Dad said that was enough so he put it in a sack and took it to the woods. on the way he picked up his axe and we kids were curious so we sneaked along down the path. He held the cat by his rear legs and placed the head acros a stump. As he dropped the blade of the axe areoss its neck the head fell to the base of the stump and then he threw the headless body down the hillside and picked up the empty sack and his axe and went back to the house. Next morning we saw the cat walking up the path meowing and carrying its head in its nouth.
