LP From an Underground Tank?

In my never-ending shopping for my first tractor, I sometimes see an attractive LP unit. I am installing a large, underground LP tank to fuel various appliances at the place where this tractor will be used. So I wonder: Is there any way to refuel an LP tractor directly from a home LP tank? Does the fuel go into the tractor's tank as a liquid or a gas? How are LPs refueled normally? Thanks.
