Is there a directional arrow on the pump flange? Most had them at one time. Some were cast... but most are now stickers. As others have said, the pump and PTO could turn either direction depending on the mounting location and transmission... and the PTO series. Most times the pumps are uni-directional due to their porting, but not always.
I'd also think that the average truck wetline pump will be WAY too much for a garden tractor. The pumps that I've got are 25 GPM pumps. That wants the better part of 50 HP if it's at pressure...
