Mother-In-Law had a section removed and seemed to take it in stride. The problem comes when a person has been on blood thinners and has to go off them for the surgery and then back on about a week after surgery. Going back on the blood thinner meds tends to cause strokes in about a weeks time. Sure enough she had a stroke about a week later and suffers from the stroke not the stomach surgery.
