Carl to remove 8n brake drum remove the recessed screw not the large nut.The nut holds the hub assembly to the axle.The recessed screw holds the brakedrum to the hub.After removing the screw you may have to spend quite abit of time removing the drum if it and the hub are rusted together. Hope this awnsers your question Mike
