You are correct in that it was the same mechanic that replaced the seal both times. I think I will order the seal per there repair ticket and have our current mechanic do the job one more time. What I was attempting to determine is if this is a common problem with this model. I also have a 1998 Ford 150, 4WD and a 1999 Ford ranger 4WD. Either of these have ever had oil added to the transmission.
