have a problem with my friend's 10-20. the tractor idles smooth but when running high idle, load or no load, it misses. this is a well maintained machine that gets worked. by the way, when parked thursday after a day of plowing it was operating perfectly as ever. this is basic stuff but here's where we get confused. air cleaner, pipes and oil clean and clear. no water or junk in fuel. new spark plugs gapped properly. new magneto leads. distributor cap is clean, shows no sign of carbon tracking. rotor is also clean. new points set properly. new condenser. new coil. that takes care of the air and the fire. next is the fuel. the carberetor (adjusted properly)we haven't touched yet because we're still hung up on ignition. when the tractor is started cold, it will run strong for a few minutes untill warmed then it starts to miss. again, it idles fine at all temperatures. this to me keeps me thinking ignition problem. we're getting a bit frusterated of course. i hope someone has some ideas. thanks..
