The teeth that have a bevel on them either slide into another gear or another gear slide into them.
Those gears in constant mesh with another gear most likely have a bronze synchronizer next to it and it has smaller beveled teeth on them. If the synchronizer teeth get rounded at the end their usually wore out. The teeth should have a good noticeable sharp angle or point on them.
