When my Norton expired I also downloaded AVG and have been a lot happier, although I do have to manually update it each week or so it only takes two minutes. You say that your computer needs a good cleaning, mine did too and I downloaded "CCLEANER" from the cnet website, just create a "system restore" check point first under accessories, system tools. On the cnet download website type "CCLEANER" in the search box at the top of the page and click on the magnifying glass symbol to the right of it. Download the program, read all the instructions and preview what it wants to remove, you will be amazed at all the junk on your disc that is slowing you down. I let it do it"s thing and my computer is a lot faster now. It has it"s own system restore program that it will encourage you to use before cleaning in case you don"t like the results you can restore it back. I don"t mean to sound like a salesman, it has worked for me and it is free.
