Hello dave2. I've seen it happen on a 2 stroke/cycle Detroit diesel without a turbo. The driver smacked the dock hard and the engine starter to turn the other way. He told me when he put it in first gear the truck backed up. That is when he pulled the emergency shut down. When that happens the intake filters would light up real well, as the intake becomes the exhaust, if you don't catch it and shut it down real quick! IT CAN HAPPEN. Guido.
