Chris, I have had both shoulders operated on....Total, Complete Replacement, I did my right shoulder 3-26-08, My left 12-10-08. The principal is the same, saw off the ball, drive in a steel shank with a steel ball offset to the side to fit in a new recepitale. Best thing since sliced bread, pocket on a pair of wranglers jeans! At times they feel different and I know that is hard to describe to someone who hasn't had a joint replaced. DO Not Hurt just feel different, especislly when s front is comming through. Go For It!! My Mom had both knees done at one time she did well with hers. She was 75 yrs old at the time! The Knee will do amazing things ie it will exchange pain @ rehab for limberness and degree of refraction past a 90 degree bend. Hope this helps. Later, John A.
