What we are saying ,is even tho the starter drive is going in to the flywheel,there may be teeth missing from the flywheel,and therefore nothing for the drive to engage and turn,so starter just spins without turning motor.Motor can be turned to spot where there are teeth remaining and then try starter.If teeth are missing ,the only answer is to replace flywheel or ring gear.
