Dont know what would cause a problem as long as the valve is the type that is spring loaded to nuetral. You also need a pressure relief valve some where between the pump and valve or built into the valve. Most everything is plumbed for 1/2 inch pipe or hose The Pioneer or ISO coupler has become standard for everything built in the 80's? and up. Most mfg's sell conversion couplers to update their older tractors to the ISO coupler.
