Every vehicle has a title/data sheet (cars, trucks, MC, tractors, etc) with the info on it. Info includes type of catylisator (if applicable), tire size, weight, demensions, hitch specs w/ max weights, built on equipment, etc.
Everything gets inspected IAW these papers and safety. Bought my tractor without a frontloader, put one on it and had to dance a little. Changed the frt tires a half inch and had to change paperwork for an additional 50 bucks. They aren't real keen on homemade stuff because it has no test data. They are tuff because tractors have the same traffic rights as cars.
