from what I can see you want to put it in place of the ball in the front I would make it bolt on there and then rest on the sides at the grill for support. and use the ball for the bolt that way it is always there then build the box to bolt or pin onto the bracket made to the hitch ball that way the add on it the box not take the ball off then change back to it when needed use all same size bolts or even implement pins that way you can keep the tools needed in a utility box for removal in the field if needed
