We got ours locally too, and atleast 15 years ago. Probably closer to 17 years ago, or whenever we got our 165.
The nice thing about tirechain.com is their price match. Don't know all the details on it, but next time we need chains I'll probably look into it a bit further.
Next year I might be looking to put some chains on our 1855 that's got 18.4x38" tires on it. Not sure how they would work with the fuel tank fenders though, because there isn't much clearance between the tires and the fenders. Espescially since we just put new tires on it this summer.
