It"s a rating of the horsepower the shaft or joint is designed to transmit. ASAE refers by categories to the same information. It also varies by the expected rpm. ie: ASAE category 3 is rated for 38 hp @540 rpm and 60 hp @ 1000 rpm. Should be a chart somewhere in the catalog. Precision calls this size a 1300 series.
