We've got the duo-grip chains on our 165 loader tractor, and they're pretty nice. We originally cut a couple links out of the sides because the tires were worn out, but then we put new tires on it probaby 8 or more years ago. Had to add a few links then so they would fit again.
If the tires are worn or 45 degree lugs, you would be fine with thr ladder style because then they don't fall between the lugs as easily.
