tractor tire chains

Anybody got tire chains they like. I have not needed them on 41 A Farmall for several years. This year, stuck way too easy in this snow. Is that double ring the best or what would you buy. I got cub with chains, very old but very strong. Can't find any like that. Appreciate any advice or info. Thanks again. South Mich-Toledo area.

I like the double ring type if you can find them, had a set on the 1800 Oliver we had when I was in High School...Roads covered in a half inch of solid ice, and backed up to the inside edge of the corner and pulled out my Aunts car that she put in the ditch, we always had good luck with those chains, but I really think that just about any set of chains will help out alot.

Canadian Chains,(canadianchainusa.com),they are good folks to deal with and despite the name are made in Maine. I have about 25 sets of their truck chains at work. HTH,Jf

They (the chains) ain't cheap, but I like the double rings on my SuperC. Mud or deep snow, even at low speeds, they clean themselves and the tread out pretty well for the next bite.

Got mine some years ago from tirechain.com.

I've no idea how their prices compare these days, but they were competitive then and their service was great. The only complaint was from the UPS driver that had to lug them. I pointed out that they could have put the pair in one box instead of two. He didn't see the humor.

When I bought my Deere 2305 I got tire chains too. When I bought it the sales guy says "are you sure you are gonna need chains". I said "you bet I will" $95 extra for the chains, the best $95 I ever spent. I have the 2 link spacing but I also want to get extra beefier chains on the crosslinks for added traction.
Go to the website, www.tirechains.com and pick out your tire size.
Now I just need to get front weights.

Any of the tractors I use in the winter I have duo-trac chains on. They aren't to rough to ride on and they provide good traction. They are pricey, but watch at auctions in the off season. I got my 18.4x34 that were new, still in their canvas bag with a $500 price tag attached for $40. It was 90 degrees in the shade that day, and nobody wanted them!

Bingo to the double rings. Going to get some for my Super C too. Have been plowing with a Jeep Cherokee with a Western Uni-Mount plow but will use the Super C for cleanup. Live hydraulics and down pressure make the Super C a great snow moving tractor.

Looks like some of those logging chains on timberjacks.
There is more steel on the ground than rubber. Great for traction in ice/snow and protects the tire too.

We've got the duo-grip chains on our 165 loader tractor, and they're pretty nice. We originally cut a couple links out of the sides because the tires were worn out, but then we put new tires on it probaby 8 or more years ago. Had to add a few links then so they would fit again.

If the tires are worn or 45 degree lugs, you would be fine with thr ladder style because then they don't fall between the lugs as easily.
