Any of the tractors I use in the winter I have duo-trac chains on. They aren't to rough to ride on and they provide good traction. They are pricey, but watch at auctions in the off season. I got my 18.4x34 that were new, still in their canvas bag with a $500 price tag attached for $40. It was 90 degrees in the shade that day, and nobody wanted them!
