Doesn't have much to do with the rim - it's the actual tire size you go by. Pretty easy to look up any tire size and get the exact specs to diameter and width. To, just go to tirechain.com and use their calculator.
A 9.5 X 16.5" tire is exactly the same size for chains as a 245/75 - 16" tire.
An 8.75 X 16.5" tire is the same as a 235/75-15" tire (for fitting chains).
That being said, you can make any chain fit anything if you've got some good chain pliers and extra chain.
