It was kind of dismal here yesterday. Didn't see the sun once and trees and power lines down all over. My solar panels have a pretty solid layer of ice on them.
Suns out today and it's kind of pretty. Just wish the power company's computer would stop calling my house to tell me how hard they are working on the power outage. National Grid called me six times so far - with a computerized message from "Rita."
I've seen posts on many forums about the dangers of backfeeding portable generators. I'd be more concerned about the many people trying to heat their homes with makeshift heaters while the power is out. First photo is our old out house. Glad we don't have to use it, it's a bit frozen at the moment.
