DO NOT PUT ANYTHING BUT WATER AND ANTIFREEZE IN YOUR COOLING SYSTEM! there now that I said that the water pump is most likely the cause if you can't see the leak at the plastic tank. in many cases the tank will split and you can see the leak. those water pumps are run by the timing belt and require a good deal of prep and work to be done. Any average do it yourselfer can handle it with the repair manual and patience.
